GE Healthcare created this calculator tool to assist in the reduction of hospital acquired infection (HAI). Reducing HAI will result in safer, higher quality care for each patient and fewer infections also mean reduced costs. Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) is a bacterial infection that can be reduced greatly through improved hand hygiene compliance. Each MRSA infection results in extra pain and care for the patient and the infections can become an extra cost for the hospital to absorb.
